The principal of China Invention Association showed on the 31st that in recent years, the amount of invention patents accepted by China ranked first in the world. Most inventions focused on hot livelihood fields, covering energy conservation and emission reduction, rural construction, etc. In future, juvenile invention and creation will be encouraged to promote China to turn into an innovative type country. Besides, as introduced, the 8th International Invention Exhibition will be held in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province in Nov. 2014.
Data show that the amount of invention patent applications accepted by China in 2013 reached 825 thousand pieces, ranking first in the world stably. At the same time, patent application in foreign countries by Chinese applicants has increased substantially, which reached 21,516 pieces in 2013, exceeding Germany and ranking third in the world. However, Lu Dahan, General Secretary of China Invention Association said frankly that China had not entered into the list of innovative countries and there was still a gap from the technical level of developed countries. However, Chinese inventors pay more attention to social and livelihood fields with a great development potential.
Lu Dahan said: “In our country, inventions made by small and medium enterprises, individuals are quite a lot and the fields of concern are often closely relevant to national hot points. Take energy conservation and emission reduction as an example. At present, the atmospheric pollution is so heavy that the personages from the invention circle should make efforts; Such as pollution issues, how to solve urban pollution, water pollution. A lot of inventions are studying these problems, including some inventions made by students. There is still livelihood issue. They are to consider how peasants are to increase production and income, such as cultivation, promotion of new varieties. This is effort made by Chinese inventors to construct a economical society, increase the happiness index of the people.”
Invention and creation condenses the wisdom of the innovation body of the whole society and adolescents are an innovation force that is not negligible. Xing Shengcai, Standing Vice Chairman of Chinese Invention Association, showed that China was striving to cultivate and encourage juvenile invention and creation and emphasizes strengthening of international cooperation. For example, China Invention Association and Sweden Invention Association have been making cooperation in recent two years. Xing Shengcai said: “They (Swede) value (invention and creation) from middle school and primary school education to cultivation of industrial workers, technical workers. We have learned a lot of enlightenment and inspiration from them. At the same time, our own young people, students can exchange with them in what problems they have and what they are interested in foreign countries. We have training in this aspect each time in the exhibition. Foreign inventions, teachers can exchange directly with our teachers and schoolmasters. The current education system of China pays too much attention to exam and is lack of creative, divergent thinking training. This is very unfavorable to cultivate new type talents. Therefore, we want to break through the shackles as possible as we can by having more exchanges with foreign countries in invention and creation.”
Besides, as introduced, the 8th International Invention Exhibition hosted by China Invention Association, IFIA will be held in Nov. in Jiangsu. At that time, in addition that domestic provinces and cities, autonomous regions, related industrial associations, PLA, etc. will organize groups to attend, 30 plus countries and regions such as USA, Germany, Sweden, Russia, Hungary, etc., such international organizations as Asia Pacific Technical Transfer Center, etc. will send groups to attend. It is expected that more than 3,000 items will participate in the exhibition. Lu Dahan showed that this international invention exhibition would be characterized by large scale, extensive representation, convenience for transaction, etc. “The first is internationality for there are 31 countries signing up for attending. The second is scale. The scale this year is around 20,000 sq. m., which is bigger than other most famous international invention exhibitions; however, this is only an index, scale is not equal to brand. The third is collectivity, representativeness. Ours is the most extensive. For example, those attending from our country include individual inventors, small and medium enterprises, such large enterprises as SASAC, etc. There are also PLA representatives, students. Foreign international invention exhibitions are substantially individual inventions and individual medium and small enterprises. The fourth is creativity. The most representative, popular 3D printing can be found on the scene; the fifth is independent intellectual property transaction. Not only domestic intellectual property rights can be transacted, but transactions can also be made internationally.”
